Any one have a Skid Lid Brand helmet.?
I saw there ads a while ago,, went to their web site, while back, and If I recall correctly,
they weren't sellin anymore cause they weren't DOT! So I quit looking.

Now I get a catalog in the mail "Compettion Acc'ys" and they have them for sale again
DOT!!!

They claim to be the smallest DOT helmet out there??

so anyone have or used these helmets???

 

I bought one from JC Whitney a few years ago. It's a decent helmet for the price, comfortable to wear and great for hot weather.

 

I got the same catalogue today. They sure have a lotta helmets. I thought the "Retro" helmets looked pretty nice.

I have the chrome one..Bought it about 2 years ago. Most of the chrome look alike plastic crap has flaked off of it over time and it looks pretty ragged now. Wouldn't buy one again. Can't comment on their DOT certs but the one I have has a DOT sticker on the back of it. (Stickers are a dime a dozen though)

 

I hate to say it; but, what do you expect for $40...real chrome? It is not going to last as long as a helmet that costs more then $100.

The Mrs. and I each have one. I have had mine (flat black), through 2 riding seasons (this will be the third season). It is probably not the best, most comfortable helmet on the market; but then again, I didn't expect it to be for $35. It is DOT compliant and is smaller than many helmets on the market and is comfortable enough for a 9-10 hour ride. That being said, I still look like a 'shroom head; just a smaller 'shroom.

 

The Vega is pretty small. Buddy has one.

 

Its going to depend on what size your head is.......if your a PIN head(Rick you've got to qualify) it will be the smallest....jus sayin

 

This whatI have.. ACC and just got it back cause of DOT issue.

 

I got a flat black DOT one....serious "shroomage"

my ACC DOT half is much less shroomy and lighter...it costs more too but I will wear it while the skid lid just collects dust
