Here's some 2009 Info. The CustomProgram also returns with 3 new colors offered over the year on the Road King Classic, the Ultra, the Street Glide and selected Softail, Dyna, Sporster and VRSC models. his is nor CVO's. This is custom paint.

Model Discontinues: VRSCD, FXDWG, XL883 and XL1200R.

2009 Model Year VRSC models will now show ABS brakes as an option versus being a different model.

No Wide Glide?????

 

The Wide Glide was offerd in 2008 in 105th Anniversary color option only. THey dis-continued that color option in January, so technically the Wide Glide is done now. What dealers have is what is left.

 

Man, that sucks. If I wasn't so in love with the Nightster, and I could afford it, it would be the WG for me. They always screw up a good thing. Like how many SuperGlides do you need? Including the Low Rider, they have 3 of those.

 

Why would they do away with the wide glide???? Whats next, the Fat Boy or the Heritage?

 

Interesting they are discontinuing the base level Sportster, the XL883. There must be a form of a replacement. My theory is the XL883 Low and XL883 have been merged OR they came out with a lower compression VRod that is approximately $6500 in cost and that will be used to attract younger, newer riders.

 

As for the Wide Glide, they did away with the Softail Custom for a few years and then brought it back. Probably the same will happen with the FXDWG. Popular demand you know.

 

For selfish reasons I'm glad they are not bringing back the FLHRS since I just went through a three month search to find the right 07 FLHRS. I was thinking about waiting to see if they brought it back for 09 with ABS and larger tank. Glad now that I made my move.
