I swiped a curtain cord off some old drapes, and blew it through the handlebars with compressed air. Tied the wires to the end, sprinkled with talc , and pulled them through.
If you need to get them to a hole, such as between the dog bones, use the same trick, but make a hook out of wire, insert in the hole, hook the string, and pull it through.
