extended warrenty

RE: extended warrenty
I have never bought an extended warranty on any car/truck/boat/motorcycle. I will spend my $$ on a shop manual and special tools (if I cant make them myself).
Usually will fix problem myself as I don't have much confidence in anyone else caring about my junk as much as I do. Taking my bike to a dealer for care would be like putting my kid in daycare, just don't feel comfortable with it, too many horror stories.

RE: extended warrenty
I turned down the extended warranty on my 02 Ultra. If I had bought it, my cam tensioners would have been paid for up in Canada on a trip. I might have broke even on it. My wrench encouraged me to buy it, saying if I didn't use it I would get my money back. Still not convinced. Now, with the 07, I figure I bought piece of mind because I do put tons of miles on my motorcycle and I can see having about 80-90000 on it when the extended warranty ends. For the $1200 it cost me, wouldn't take much to exceed that amount. If I don't have to use it, its only money. Peace of mind.
