Near Miss - Ha Ha He He

RE: Near Miss - Ha Ha He He
Serves them right for trying to swquish you. That's a big reason I'll never split lanes unless it's absolutely necessary to avoid an accident. I believe it's just not safe to do. I've seen bikes trying to split lanes and they accidentally rubed down the side of a cage. Crap happens both ways. I'm not a fan of lane splitting. Too many times have I had a kid on a crotch rocket squeeze inbetween my dually (blind spots galore) and the car next to me. Scared the crap out of me when they roar by. Slow down, enjoy the ride, and live for another day! JMHO

Yes, it takes constant scanning, not relaxing at all. There are times to split lanes and there are times to be very cautious. Duallys, large SUV's, Buses are usually not too much of a problem if they are not next to each other. I am not kidding myself, its not real safe and someday I might have a wreck with a cager. This is not exactly defensive driving.
The only wreck I have been in (outside of racing) during 30+ years of riding was on the surface streets when some idiot blind sided me.

Good one Jerry. Sometimes they try to close the gap on us down here too. I split lanes but I also pick the moments. Usually I don't do it if I'm not in a hurry and never if the man is in front - they can get you for all types of stuff here.
