I wouldn't call her a beater but my cage is a 94' Dodge Ram 4x4, she just crossed 100,000 miles so it is in pretty good shape for as old as it is. But hey it is paid for and that is all I care about. Also have a 2002 Grand Cherokee that is also paid for. The bike however is not!! We have our priorities!!

Great thread!! Ha ha! Brings back memories. That was my strategy so many many years go. Even as I had kids. My wife always got the newest used vehicle for reliability concern for the kids and I always got the piece of shiet du jour left over that recquired a tool box and jumper cables to go to work and back in the winter. Heater usually never worked, transmission had one leg in the junk yard, blew smoke. One was a 1972 Buick Riviera, another was a 1965 Newport Chrysler. And old 1975 Pinto. Ahhh the good old days.

However and luckily now that we are older, hard work has paid off we have our cake and eat it to.....God Bless America!!

ORIGINAL: zukeeper

ORIGINAL: Drumbasher

1996 Jeep Cherokee, 335,000 miles, windshield cracked the full length, bad brakes, but its got a mint body and the engine still purrs. So trustworthy, definitely buy another when she dies...
got to luv them lil 4.0 cherokees i got a 97 with 126,000. figure she is just getting broke in
I gave my pap my 1991 Jeep Cherokee with 228,000 miles and does not leak or burn oil. Tranny works like new. I drive a 1996 chevy blazer and my Heritage Softail Classic is paid for.
No debt except my mortgage and that feels good.

98 Dakota. Bought it new for cash, and I'm gonna keep it until the wheels fall off. I maintain it religiously, use only Mobil 1, and fix everything right away. I have no need for a car and don't want one.

I don't drive a 'beater' - but my bike is paid off.

I need something reliable because I travel through MO for work.

My ride is a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 Ext Cab - with QuadraSteer.

Wifey drives a 2004 Acura TSX.

I am looking for something 'cheap' that I can use for my shorter work related commutes, but have yet to find something that suits my needs.

I drive a 94 Geo Prizm. Body has 170,000ish miles and engine has 80,000.
We have a loan out on the 03 corolla.
I plan on running this one until it dies because my next big purchase is going to be a Deluxe and then I'll buy a truck or something.

Not really beaters, but both paid for. Well, the '95 dodge diesel is kinda a beater, but the 1972 chevy suburban is nice! Pinted red and white, lowered and rallye wheels.

I ride my fatboy most of the time but I have a 96 Dodge ram when I need to haul anything. But my wife has a 06 convertable she lets me drive when we are going out.
