They really need to use nitrogen in tires that have the sensors.

The Chrysler Crossfire I used to lease, (I miss that car) had 2 of them go bad. Dealer said what happens is with air in the tire it's subjecct to a lot of condensation inside. That causes the sensors to corrode.
Nitrogen I guess is much better in that respect.
Nitrogen is more stable as the temps change. If you put 35lbs in your tire and the TPMS is set at 33 then the air temp [like winter temps] will make the sensor go off untill the tire warms up. Nitrogen doesn't expand and contract with temp. like air.

there's more nitrogen in the atmosphere than oxygen, thus it doesn't "escape" as quickly.

It is not an issue of "it is a geat idea"........ It is an issue of the federal government MANDATING something that it has no business even being involved with.

Every day I feel more and more that George Orwell was right all along............................
Have you ever noticed just how many laws, rules and regulations are put in place simply because people are no longer responsible for their own actions?

I have TPMS on my Jeep Commander and since I check the air at least twice a month I'm not sure it even works. As far as on a bike, there are those who "ride" who don't even know how to check the air so it'll probably happen to help those who do not take resposibility for themselves and their property. That said, the comment about the wrench in the tire does show a positive for the TPMS.

Buy a new big truck (ford sd, dodge or whatever)....the tmps is set for 80#'s on most of them with e rated tires. If you don't have 2k loaded on it it rides like shat, and wears the tires out in the center. Hurray for the epa

I can check my own damm air Hillary

Kisan already has a set of TPMS for Harley and Metrics. I have the TPMS in my 300M and I have to say its nice. One of these will probably find its way on my bike some day.

Maybe some day they will mandate full face helmets, body armor, anti-lock brakes, a throttle governer, anti-tip pontoons, and a roll cage to be retrofitted to all bikes. That would be great. Then we couldn't kill ourselves (or enjoy the ride).
