Well, I'm not religious, but I hope whatever power may be up there will make an exception and hear me all the same, if I ask for somebody else.

Prayers will be said at morning mass.......but just remember a few things. First let me tell you I lost my father last month (02/07), and he was 80. He was very ill and frail.....he lived with me and I took care of him for the last several years. I will not go into it now, but he had many serious things wrong with him, but was still able to get around and take care of himself....and his mind was still fine for a man of his age. What I want to tell you is that sometimes we can get very selfish. We want to hold on to our loved ones for as long as we can, but we fail to think about what they want. My mother passed 10 years ago, and I was all my dad had......this man was the one who got me into motorcycles and took me riding every weekend as a kid......I had a fun and loving childhood thanks to him and my mom. I thought the right thing to do was to just make sure he had the best of care and didnt go without anything he may need. He went through several serious operations, and for the last year and a half was on kidney dialysis 3X a week for 3 hours a day....that and all the other dr apts. and hospital stays was wearing him down. I am just glad he died right here at home with me and my wife sitting right next to him. I was reading from my prayer book as he passed and I heard him take his last breaths......and even though I knew he would be going on to a much better place.....and that he was just bone tired.....I still tried to give him CPR.....until I realized that it was just his time, and there could be no more dignified, loving or easy way to pass. He basically just closed his eyes, and exhaled his last breath.....knowing full well he was with his loved ones....in his own house....in his favorite chair with our dog at his feet. He was in peace.
Sometimes you have to just come to the conclusion no matter how hard it is to just let go......if God wants grandma.....then she will go.....and if its not her time she will be home safe and sound soon enough. You need to pray for guidance to make the correct decisions.....and need to recognize when a person has had enough. I hope everything works out, and she can come home soon.....but just remember at her age....she has lived her life....she had thought for many hours about the day that she will pass away, and I am sure she is happy in knowing she did quite a bit for you and the rest of her loved ones. Just do what your heart tells you....and pray for guidance. God will never let you down at a time like this.
