I`m retired and have lived in Va all 58 years of my life-
I want a change of scenery

1-Country living
2-low cost of living
3-lake for bass fishing
4-not tooo damn hot and humid
5-gun friendly

would love to travel around in a RV for a few years to see the country..

I am retired - called Houston home most of my life.... I recently moved to San Antonio for the riding. after reading all these posts, AZ is starting to sound mighty good. I don't have a GF, OL or anyone else to consider - but the dog, and she goes where I say.

I may have to sneak out there and look around.

For six moths a year Northern New England is tough to beat. The other six---well WINTER.
Every place has some positives and Negs.
Socal has way too many people. Ditto Fla. All dessert locations are just too damn HOT at times.
As for great riding, Western North Carolina is WAY hard to beat.
My vote then is Asheville NC area. Almost year round riding.

But how do Hd's hold up in the constant heat of AZ? They run so hot as it is up north just wondering what happens in 110 degrees.
When we bought the new bikes, we took the WideGlide and Nightrain to our Bullhead City house. Put Jagg oil coolers on both. Did the same with the Springer and Sportie way back when. Never had a problem.

I am seriously considering east Tennessee for my retirement home. Can't afford the ideal of having a winter home and a summer home, so have been looking for the best year-round location. TN has a great road system and some of the most beautiful scenery in the country for riding, great tax situation (very low property tax, no State tax, sales tax not so good though,) east TN is out of tornado alley unlike middle and west TN (a biggie for me,) and almost year-round riding climate (another biggie!) '09 might be the year to pull the trigger...
