numb hands may not be a big deal until you start putting 600 mile days on it

+1 the most I can do at a stetch is 250 miles. Then I need about a 90 min break to shake it off

Then I'm good for about another 250. That's it for the day.......... period.

But............ this is my Dream Bike. 1st NEW H.D., and had the cash to set it up exactly like I've wanted for the last ........ well almost 30 years. After I switched it back, it was just wrong!

So I'm gonna be a stubborn cuss and keep it the way that I want it until my arms fall off.

Mama took the pic at exactly 5K on the odometer...... on Rte 66 just south of Barstow Ca, last summer.

peace

.............. Jim

I'd love to do some 12's but they want 1k to do it at the dealer and at another shop near me. My current setup the bars are to low and come towards me which causes a lot of pain after only an hour of riding in my shoulder area. I normally only ride 150 miles a day when I do ride so I am having a hard time justifying 1k to do this. Wish I knew someone in AZ who would do it for around 500 cuz it would be a no brainer then....

With the apes,I felt like I was being pulled thru the wind instead of being pushed..really cool.
That lasted for about a year, shoulder injury from the oilpatch became agrivated.

One of my friends in three months went from apes, to t-bars, then back to apes. He couldn't stand leaning forward with the drags...

drag bars and T bars are not the same thing . T bars come in different pullbacks. Mine are 1 1/2 diameter bars and have 9 inches of rise ( had to clear the tank lift) and around 7 1/2 inches of pull , there is no leaning forward , in fact , I can lean against my lady when shes on back.yes the seat is fuggen ugly and on the to go list but the bars are perfect.
For the folks that are thinking apes and talking 12 and 14 bars I really recommend you find somebodies ride to at least sit on. At least for me , those sizes hurt my shoulders and lower back no matter how I set things up .See if you can find someone with 16 or 18 apes , you might be surprised at how comfy they feel.
suck *** pic but it was handy

Had 18 in apes on my Rd King. The best mod I ever did to that bike. The only problem that I had was when I got a ticket just as I got into Wy., during Bikeweek. Then I bought my Road Glide. Thinking of getting some but not sure.
