whats the real difference between the dyna and softail? the dyna is considerably cheaper. Im not fully understanding what makes them different.

Buy the bike that fits your riding style and if you're gonna be riding 2-up then consider the passengers comfort. A Road King Custom is a tourer that sits low and has lots of extra chrome.
BTW, A Fat Boy is a softail. The only thing I don't like about the Fat Boy is the solid rims which catch air.

I agree with the softail or dyna suggestions. In the softail go for the standard and in the dyna the street bob is great.

I have a Street Glide (touring) and if I could have a second bike it would be the Fat Bob. I just love the way it feels. I like the forward controls but they also come with mid mount controls for a sportier riding position or someone with shorter legs. Have you been to the HD website? It will give you alot of info and options for all the models.

You may not want to hear this, but....
depending on where you are and the time of year, riding in the city with a lot of stop and go can heat you up pretty good.
Have you considered the V-Rod line at all?
Plenty of horses, layed back and good handling.
Just a thought

I would look at a dyna or sporty, and possibly a deluxe (depends on your budget). Deluxe has the lowest seat height of the three, and feels nice.
If you go with the Dyna the only thing different for the most part between the superglide, and the custom. Is that the custom has more chrome, and in my opinion has a better look.
