07 heritage does it w/ rain or humidity.clears up on its own.someone told me there is no gasket so a certain amt of moisture gets in.a hair dryer will make it go away although no one i knows carries a hair dryer on there bike.

I rode my FXSTSSE on a moist ride here about a week ago. The tach had the same problem. In fact it quit working. I went through the test steps and it leads me to “replace the tach”. Because the bike is still under warranty and the dealer was closed that day I took it apart and dried it out to see what would happen. It works fine now. I did talk to the dealer and they told me that the dash is usually what fogs up and the indicator lights quit working. They also told me that Harley wouldn’t warranty it due to moisture. I ask him “so I bought a $25000.00 bike I can’t ride in the rain. He told me I could but my dash lights might quit working. What a joke. Anyway I’ve been told that it gets in from steam coming off the engine. Not sure I believe that or not. It’s real easy to take the speedo out and set it in a warm area over night. You should use a little caution when washing the bike especially with high pressure. Luck dude.

Seems to be a common thing with HD instruments, you would think that they could or would seal them better. My speedometer fogs up occasionally.
