RE: EVO or TC88 ??? Which is better?
ORIGINAL: rizzo Something to consider is how long HD will support your model? Planned obsolesence creeps into the picture as the bikes add more electronics to the package and our bikes become older. The cruise module for my '94 is no longer available along with some other parts. One of my buddies had a hard time finding parts for his '96 fuelie. What do we do when the parts well runs dry ? It's frustrating in some ways that you can buy nearly any part needed for a '94 Ford or Chev but not for a Harley. |

No, J/K Just like pans and shovels, the after market manuf. will step into the pic, and begin producing the parts. There are way too many scoots out there for them to miss out on that cash cow. The downside is, it takes a few years for them to get it all up and running. If you can keep things going til then, I believe parts will be available. We went thru it with pans, and then shovels. Now EVO's are in that gray zone. But, that's just MFUO. GUMBY |
RE: EVO or TC88 ??? Which is better?
We use to hear "Ride no Evo" alot, but now I think Evos are being appreciated for what they are. I think you will be happy with buying an Evo. Heck, I'd even sell a TC and then buy a used Evo, with money left over. Evos are in the grey area and this is the best time to pick them up. They are truely the last engines you can easily fix in your garage. Good luck on whatever choice you make. Atleast, you got the $$ at the right time to cut deals.
ride safe, dave |

My $.02 - EVO's forever. It's what a true HARLEY is all about. If you like to run with the rest of the crowd then by all means buy the NEW TECHNOLOGY.The bike is 24 years old and the real Harley riders still walk past the newCASH COWS parked in the parking lot to have a look @the ANTIQUE.

RE: EVO or TC88 ??? Which is better?
I was a hard convert but the TC FI's won me over. In a word "RESPONSE"!

RE: EVO or TC88 ??? Which is better?
TC88 is what I like and prefer, smoother less vibration...
|
RE: EVO or TC88 ??? Which is better?
EVO is easy to work on, TC gives me a hard time.

RE: EVO or TC88 ??? Which is better?
Both are great, and I have owned both. However my 95 Springer gets waaaaay more attention than my 02 Heritage ever got, and it had waaaaay more chrome than the springer. You cant loose with either.

RE: EVO or TC88 ??? Which is better?
I would love to have an EVO Springer. Do it.

RE: EVO or TC88 ??? Which is better?
I had an EVO with a Mikuni carb and all was great except in the cold weather. Caughing and spitting back through the carb which I do not miss one bit with my FI.
