Default Looking for dealer in the Midwest who is willing to deal

I'm in the Twin Cities area (MN) and all of the dealers around here want MSRP plus a boat load of fees, etc.

I'm looking for a dealer in this region that's willing to deal and wants to move some bikes.

Anybody got a suggestion?

I've done that to all the dealers in Minnesota and between here and Des Moines, so far none of them want to sell below MSRP.

Obviously they aren't concerned about the economy, must think they are going to easily sell all their product this year.

Are you looking to buy new or used?

Generally around here (Chicagoland area) if you buy new you are looking at $400 dealer prep and about $300 freight fees in addition to msrp and tax and a doc fee. (Doc fee is usually about $90 depending on dealer.) If you are willing to buy used there should just be the doc fee.

I have heard of some dealers waiving the prep and freight but I think that is unusual.

Expand your search nationally. Most all dealers offer free shipping in the U.S. Palm Beach Harley offers $1100 off on any big twin.......more on other models. No bullshit fees. Also call Crystal River HD. Stay away from the Rossmeyer dealerships in Fl. They will negotiate a great deal in person, but not over the phone. Make sure the dealer has the exact bike you want in stock b4 working the price. No sense working a "mind" deal.

You check out Apol's HD in Raymond, MN? Alot of us railroaders really like this shop. Another good spot is Big Barn HD in Des Moines and Chipp's HD in Osceola. Chipp's shop rate is $48/hr if ya buy a bike from them. Also Chipp is the guy that owns Fat Bagger Inc, if you recognize that name.

What bike are you looking at and what price are you willing to pay? The time to slash prices a bunch has not arrived as you have already seen. Twin Cities South claim they will beat any price anywhere.
