DOES ANYONE ELSE HIDE THE TRUE COST OF HD STUFF FROM THEIR SPOUSE?

RE: DOES ANYONE ELSE HIDE THE TRUE COST OF HD STUFF FROM THEIR SPOUSE?
Hell yes I lie about it. After 37 years of marriage I figure, why give her something to worry about. Most of the stuff I buy I explain that I need to put it on the bike because I wouldn't want her to be seen on anything less than the best. She doesn't buy that BS. Sometimes I pay cash and sometimes I charge. When I told her I quit drinking and don't chase women and this is my only habit, she said Hey I don't dring and chase men. That didn't work.
Now I just claim it as it is--my most positive addiction.

I don't tell my wife, because I don't have to. But I'm not hiding it either.
See, we have separate accounting/checking, no joint cards, etc.
It's the best arrangement a marriage could have.
My wife was against it in the beginning but now admits she'd not have it any other way!
Financialautonomy need not end at the altar.
