2008 HD Pricing??? Are they sticking to list?
Just checking to see if there is any feedback to new bike pricing. Thinking about trading in and upgrading to a 2008 105th Road King Classic. With the economy the way it is...are dealers flexible on pricing...or are they sticking to list pricing on new bikes?
Much thanks.

I was looking here in the Northeast in early December for an '08 Road King Classic. The dealer had one in Crimson Red Sunglo coming in January 15.
At that time the dealers stuck to MSRP but waived set-up fees, offered 15% discount on add on parts, 10% off labor, free first service, and $500 gift card. Still raped on trade-in though.
Not sure if they are still doing offering the same as the warmer weather gets closer.

In the Middle Tennessee area, dealers are a little flexible on MSRP during the lean months. They are a little more eager to move bikes. Baggers are in higher demand, so they aren't so flexible on that. And the lean season is about over. So, if you're serious, you should probably move on it pretty soon.

Totally agree with Dynamike about the lean season coming to a close. With the nicer weather coming, the bike shops are getting pretty crowded with people looking to plunk down their money on a new bike.
In my opinion, I would try selling your existing bike privately. To be honest, I haven't talked to anyone who traded theirs inlately, but it seems more and more folks are buying new now so the value of used bikes has dropped considerably at the shops.
Just my two cents' worth.

They're a little over list here in Tulsa. 2 dealerships, 2 Nightsters. One wants $10,350.00 and the other wants $10,850.00. A 105th Anniversary Wide Glide is 19k. And a Screaming Eagle (not sure on model as the price tag caused me to go into a seizure) was marked $28k+.
