I wear a pair of Hatch Kevlar lined leather gloves. Same glove used by LEO as frisk gloves. The kevlar lining offers additional protection should you try to use your hand to sand the road surface. They are light and cool on your hands as well

Go to a western wear store and try on a pair of Justin ropers,if you have ever watched a rodeo you've seen these.

Just walk into any well stocked Harley store and pick out a pair with the jell padding. They look good, will probably fit good and they do the job.

Buy a proper set of riding gauntlets. If you buy non-riding gloves they will not have the ventilation you're looking for. Gauntlets offer the necessary protection and optional cooling you want.
And for the people suggesting mechanix gloves: yes I have a pair of those, but they're for WRENCHING on my bike, not riding it. You're insane if you think those things will do anything but change the color of your road rash from pink to black when you crash.
Sweat wipes off, blood doesn't.

I always wear gloves when I ride, no matterhow hot it is.Granted here is Seattle it does not get that hot, but I wear them on my MANY trips to Phoenix during the Aug heat! I have been wearing plain ol tan/brown leather gardening gloves, get them at Costco, 3 pair for $18. They weather well, last a very long time and like me, they are cheap. Keep an extra pair in a saddlebag for when I get caught in a heavy rain. Works for ME.

Good old hardware store Deerskin gloves for summer riding. I had a pair on when I had my crash and they made it thru with a few good abrasions, but not a sctrach on my hands. the deerskin is tought but soft.
