Default Going back to metric.

Well guys and galsI've decided that once the weather breaks I'm going to sell or trade my 2008 Ultra POSE and go back to metric. Not because theres anything wrong with the HD it's just not what I'm looking for. So what your thoughts on what I can expect on how much money I'll lose if I trade or Sell. I still owe just over $19,000.One dealer (Honda)told me they would put it in there showroom and charge me 15% of the sale price, 10% if I rebuy from them but I don't think a honda dealer is the place for a new HD. What ever I do it has to be a smooth deal because the wife is ready to chop off my manhood. She doesn't understand my passion for riding and my search formy ultimate ride.

Well, I'd probably consider trying to sell it on eBay. You get a multi-national audience and you stand a better chance of finding just the right buyer. Be careful and watch for people that will try to take advantage of you. I've sold cars and bikes on eBay with great success.

Secondly, you might want to do better research on exactly what it is you are looking for in a bike. Metrics aren't for everyone, just like Harley Davidson bikes aren't for everyone.

From a financial perspective, expect to take a hit, but it goes with the territory, no matter what you would have purchased. The cost of driving a car, truck, bike or boat off the dealership lot is substantial.

Good luck and I hope you find what you want.

I can understand. I've often said I feel sorry for someone who is blind to all other brands. So many bikes, so little time !!!

Best bet is a private sale. You will get hosed at any dealership. Have patience. Spring is coming and a used low milage '08 Ultra will under bid a new dealer purchase all day. With a little patience you'll be fine. A dealer will offer you 3-5000$ less then what its worth so they can recoop the profit to be had. Check Kelly blue book for an idea what its worth.

Give your hog a chance. How many miles you got on it? Sounds a bit like buyers remorse.
