I thought you had to keep a Police Officer Special Edition for a set number of years before you could sell it? (I thought it was 2 or 3) Didn't you have to give your badge number and fill out some forms regarding this

They don't do that anymore. I guess they were in the past because guys were comming in and buying at a discount and turning a profit. The sales guy told me if I sold in the first year Harley would band me from buying new again. I'm not look to turn a profit.

I dont know what your looking for bro, but if you bought a 08" Ultra, you MUST be looking for a high end touring bike....I would think. If that's the case.....give the HD a chance. Its the real deal....where the jap bikes are just playing copy cat games.
Since when is the Goldwing a H-D copy cat? If he's not into the Harley mystique the Goldwing is probably the better bike. Compared to an Ultra the Goldwings chassis and engine is on another level. You couldn't get an Ultra to do this:

I chose an Ultra Classic over the Gold Wing and BMW LT. The Honda and BMW offer better performance, but theyhave nocharacter, which is something you can't compare on a spec sheet.

Try e-bay. I've sold a couple of bikes there with no problems. Think about it though. It could be that in a few years-should you go metric this time-you'll want to sell again. I'll tell you on the front end that metrics do not hold their resale value like an HD does. Something to consider.

You might also consider some of the publications that cater to LEO's as well as making contact with some of the LEO oriented riding clubs, Blue Knights, etc.

Since it is a POSE bike you might have better luck targeting that market directly.

Good luck (mostly with your Mrs.)and I hope you find your perfect ride.

It is a POSE, but the tank emblem is made so that the LE stuff comes off and you just have Harley Davidson Motor Co
