Go very fast to the intersection and push the handle bar to the left. You'll go around the corner to the right and the back end will be slidding out. You'll look real cool doing it.

Turn your head and look where you want to go as others have said. You might even, in a right turn, look a little farther right, down the right shoulder.

Use the "friction zone." Give it some throttle and slip the clutch. At the same time, lightly ride the rear brake.

If you're going really slow, such as just leaving a stop and turning, you can't counter-steer. That works great from about 10-15 mph and up but in this case you need to steer in the direction you are going.

Practice.

Take the riders' courses if you haven't.

Buy "Ride like a Pro."

Learn to enjoy scraping your floorboards/pegs. In other words, don't be afraid to lean it over.

Good luck.

Excellent advice and descriptions by all. Only one question: Where the h*ll were you guys in '67 when "I" needed you? Naw, not one of you stepped forward to help the hayseed out. And you wonder why the h*ll I have an attitude? "Hey, I know, let's all go over and watch the "new' kid crash on the Honda doing right hand turns." Real funny, guys, real funny, THANX.

Gump... seems like I had a vision or two in 1967... something about push the right handlebar a little further out and give it a little more gas... turn your head and eyes in the direction you want to go...

then I fell over and didn't wake up for 3 days [8D]

I really did try to get that to you back then... hahahahaha

look through the turn at where you want to go and the bike will follow. i know it sounds silly, but it works. if you keep staring at the vehicle coming in your direction in the opposite lane, you are probably going to run into it. focus ahead through the turn.

Great rule of thumb. When I went to Pearl Harbor the first time, eveyone told me, don't honk at the locals. "Why?" Cuz their car goes where they look, and you don't want them looking at you. Worst part was, IT WAS TRUE.
