motorcycle cover
My 06 Fatboy will be here next month and after some construction this summer I will be able to keep my ride
indoors. I was looking at covers and found one that enclosed the entire bike. Just intrested if anyone has used this
cover or had any thoughts. Its kind of pricey but I want only the best.

RE: motorcycle cover
Moisture is your biggest problem keeping the bike outside. I don't know how your weather is there but here in Illinois the constant change in temp (40's during the day and 25 at night) caused condensation to form. You will need a cover with vents that will not allow water in but will let the bike dry when it warms during the day. Harley's deluxe covers are among the best I've seen. They do make the clear plastic inflatable cover that has a fan to keep the moisture out but that is more for garage use I think. I'm not sure what kind of cover you are talking about in your post. If you would list the name or part # for it you will get a better response. Either way, you will want to make sure your bike is clean and that you put a good coat of wax on all the painted parts and something on the metal parts to stop corrosion.

I agree with Terry. I have never seen the cover you are talking about. My main concern with the bikes I've had over the years is dust and dirt. I went LOW TECH. It saves a bunch of money and its disposable. A old blanket or bed sheet. Anything that will "Breathe" and big enough to cover the bike a hang down low enough for protection. I bought a fancy cover ONCE, but I had a bad habit of throwing it aside and not properly folding and putting it away every time I wanted to ride. I always seemed to be IN A HURRY to ride, go figure, and that cover was soon a nasty expensive MESS. Oh well, just a few thoughts from an old Gheezer. Enjoy the Ride and Clean the Bike... Throw the cover away.... LOW TECH ? yeah, but it works for me... hdman

RE: motorcycle cover
If you're keeping it indoors, or in an enclosed garage, just cover it with a bedsheet. All you're looking to do if your storing it that way is to keep dust from building up.
I keep mine covered with a bottom bed sheet. The elastic at both ends keeps it snug over the front and back of the bike.

I bit the bullet and went for the luxury Harley indoor cover - so far love it - fits really well and goes on/comes off very easily and quickly.
So far no problems, but like has been said its not cheap

I'm one of those unlucky guys who has no garage and keeps his bike outside spring -late fall ,right now i have opne of the harley storm covers which covers all but about 1" of my rims, this spring i'm either going to one of these free standing units or building a small shed, winter I store in my heated basement.
