Default Bike Rally Planning

If you could plan your own Bike Rally, what events would you hold during the rally?

Bike Show
Concert
Rodeo
Poker Run
Charity?

What kind of stuff would make you want to attend a first year event?

We are kicking ideas around for a fundraiser. I mentioned that several annual runs in the Valley raise a pretty good amount of money. It seems a shame that two of the annual events held are commercial events and do not go to a non-profit. If the outlook was good then we would look at doing a fairground deal. Not sure if we should start small.

Our group knows how to do charity dinners not a rally so I am seeking interest and input. If we do go large then we may look at contracting with a promoter.

just an idea check out the local High School bands (garage bands) to help keep the cost down
you can get some local talent
then book a well known Biker band like Charlie Brechtell or the Fryed brothers
you would want some type of Bike games / keg push / weenie bite / carb toss / water haul / Plank ride / ect .... 3-5 games will work depending on timing
a ride in peoples choice bike show (sorry no trailer queens)
also set up a small 5 stop poker run ending at the event

just make sure that there are no other events happening in your area your weekend like the Lacy Petersen ride ect check the weekend before or after

attend your local ABATE meetings and any COC meeting to find out what is happening and to also recruit help w/ security and parking ect.

I will only go if you have one of those little food trailers that sells cotton candy, elephant ears, and soft-serve ice cream.

with sprinkles.

My first thought was - GEEZ , they live in Ca. Don't they have enough rallies already? But then it came to me, your riding "season" is almost ALL year, so you have many more weekends to fill with things to do. When we only have 24 or so weekends to fill, easy to get "overloaded" with rallies, parades, runs, etc., everyone trying to squeeze them in. Most weekends it is 2, 3, 4, or more events to "try" to hit. And those are justthe ones we are interested in. GUMBY
