Default road king front brake noise

hi i'm new to this.
i have a 05 road king, this is my 3rd riding season with it.from the first time i rode it i noticed
noise in the front brakes and when i asked the dealer about it they said i just have to live with
it,they switched my front rotors around but it did'nt make a big change.
i was wondering if anyone else has the same issue and if so any suggestions

Can you describe what kind of noise you get, and when you get it?
Without such info is quite impossible to provide any advice.

scubaharley Please do a search as this subject comes up quite often. About every other day. Many have their own ideas and some believe their dealer who say the same thing. This is not normal and my brakes do not make noise nor do they drag. I have given ways to fix it but members, in the end usually believe the dealer. This is wrong.

I had a problem with my front brake on my 05 RK,but it was after the dealer serviced it.After having both tires replaced, the front made a noise at low speed.Took it back and the pulled it back off and said one pad was not all the way in place, not straight. They fixed it and I've not had a problem since. They are wrong about having to live with it.Make them fix it.

I would like to start by you cleaning your calipers. Yes-take them off! Go here for a guide and do everything asked of you. Please do not leave anything out. I do not like to work more than I have to, so I would not ask anyone to do that. This method has worked over the years.

You may download a copy for the shop or even limit the printed pages by selecting which pages you need.

There are many other factors involved that are not covered but this first option is free. I do not have stock in a brake grease company so the $0.25 packets give me no revenue…Yes, you need it! The next step would be warped rotors. You probably do not have those if your bike makes the noise all of the 360ْ of tire/rotor rotation. The last option is change to better brake pads like Lyndall.

A slight warp in the rotor will cause the squeal & it is a common problem. I've been told using floating rotors willcure it. I'm putting one on now with a new front wheel so I'll know if it works soon. Yep, I had the squeal too & it is worse when I ride 2 up.

yes it's a constant noise , it's not a noise like a warped rotor would make.
i'll try what you suggest Fast Harley , Thanks
