So when do you decide its time to trade in for a newer bike?

Is it number of miles? Is it age? When the project is done? when you see the next cool upgrade?

Sir, its when you have a hankering for an upgrade. A change o pace. Some say the best time to buy a bike is in December, best time to sell is the spring. I say start as soon as you get that hankering. No telling how long it will take if you do a private sale. I started in November selling a bike and it took me until that following August to sell it. With all the Bullshit that goes with a private sell. One guy actually said yes, called me back a week later then said no. Then called me a week later and said yes then called me later that day and said no. I asked him to please call me a 3rd time. WTF!! And even after the bike was sold in August it didn't get gone until a mementary thaw in this past January.

 

For me its when your bike doesnt do what you want to any more. If the female will not ride your bike due to so uncomfortable and you can fix that factor then trade. It up to you really. I have traded my Heritage 100 times in my head for a Ultra but I just cant do it in the real world. Price verses what I get for it doesnt calculate to a win win.

 

I'd bought my last bike new in '04 and never had any thought of when to sell or trade...when the '07's came out with the 96" 6 speeds, I decided it was time to get that Night Train I'd been thinking about for so long...got mine then, love the $hit out of it, and this one is gonna be a keeper, no matter what else I do in the future.

 

What are you asking us for?

It's YOUR bike and YOUR money.

 

I wouldn't trade either of mine in. Bikes are not for sale, but if u need spare wife/kid let me know.

 

When the bike you own doesn't make you want to ride it every chance you get.
