Default Good Leathers - made the move

I've been looking for a set of quality leathers for my wife and I for awhile. I ponied up and ordered a jacket & western's for both of us from Langlitz yesterday after a couple back-and-forth emails with Scott who processes new orders for them. They really impressed me with the personall care they give each of their customers, I had made a mistake in a measurement for my wifes westerns and he noticed it did not look quite right and let me know. It would not have been that noticible either but they picked up on it and we got it right. I've got a 2 month wait so it hopefully we'll have them for most of the season this year. The wife ordered a Cascade and the Westerns both in goatskin. I ordered a Columbia and westerns also. I opted to leather line all pockets on the jackets and stayed with zippered rear pockets and jean style front pockets. I finally got the green light from Mrs Ace on these when she saw a girlfriend of her's with severs road rash last summer. She had a pair of jeans and a jean jacket on, went down with her BF on his Kawasaki something or other and she said her pants shredded in seconds as she slid down the road. Will be scarred for life but is alive. After that the wife was like "OK when are we getting good leathers"...

Had an idiot toss a bottle out his window as I was coming the other way. Glass put a nice gash in my chaps. Don't care to know what my leg would have looked like without them on.

If you get a chance, go to Portland and visit the shop. The lady that measures you is the lady that cuts the material and is also the seamstrist. Then when there done she fits em on you to be sure they are right. I live 3 hrs north of em and like to cruise down there and shop.

I won't ride without Langlitz period.

Scott and Dave are both real good people to deal with.

I have a pair on Langlitz pants that are 30 years old and still kick ***. I never want to go *** over tea cups, but if I find myself sliding down the asphalt, these are the only pants I'd want to have on.

I live 30 minutes from there shop. It's an amazing place. A little hole in the wall with more leather in it than you could possibly imagine. First class operation and people. You get what you pay for in this case. No better leather product out there in my opinion.

I wish I was closer so I could go to them to be measured. That was the only part that I wasn't so confident of my ability to measure correctly. Its a pretty long wait and I want to make sure I had it right. It was obvious to me they really knew their craft when I was off on one measurement and they picked up on it. I know that if I'm not happy they will make it right but the only reason I would be unhappy would be because of me not measuring correctly. I triple checked everything and am feeling better about being right after a few emails from Scott. I mean , I'm not a tailor and not used to measuring for clothes.
