Fuel Injection Cleaner
I regularly use fuel injector cleaner in my cars and trucks. Does anyone have any experience good or bad using these products on the FI Harley's? If you have used them which products do you recommend or advise to staying away from.

Sea Foam! Most fuel injector cleanersare a joke. Sea Foam blows lucas out of the water. Use Sea Foam on everything your cars and trucks instead of injector cleaner and FEEL the difference!

If it doesn't say "Seafoam" you are throwing away good $$$$. Comes in a white and redcan, says "Seafoam" on it. They also make some other products, but have very limited experience with them, so no comment on 'em. Find it at NAPA, Checkers, Any parts store, also Wal-Mart, Target, MacDonalds (use it on fries)
A CAUTION: Seafoam is an excellent product, my Dad used it, I have used it for decades. I have it in everything I own. Do NOT overdo it.(Mix it too rich)Has the opposite effect. Will gum things up vs cleaning them up. To my knowledge, the only other fuel injector cleaner that will tackle injector "gum up" is "GUNK Fuel Inj. Cleaner", but pales in comparison to Seafoam.
Most of you are dealing with "new" (relatively) motors. IF you decide to put Seafoam in the crankcase (works good)of an older motor, be careful, as the Seafoam will loosen all the "crud" or "sludge" and can cause plugging of oil passages, filter, oil pump screen, etc. But that is of little concern with a "new" motor. Just FYI.

Seafoam sounds a lot like Marvel Mystery Oil. Are they the same stuff??
I use Chevron gasoline exclusively--supposed to keep fuel injectors clean and prevent carbon buildup in the engine.

The top Name brand fuels today, at least in the US, contain additives to keep injection systems clean. There is no reason for additional cleaners unless you are running the cheap stuff. I pulled an injector from my cage a couple months ago (150,000 miles) and it was spotless.
