How would you like to spend 105 years building a product, and have someone come in and gravytrain off your name?

Start selling shady products, and ruin your name?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say, you wouldn't care for that too much.

I don't think it was meant to be gravytraining, just a nice clear business name to say "we sell parts for Harleys for all those stuck with the mania. We are mad for Harleys too"
It's a niche market here so shady sellers swiftly get reputations and tend to lose business quickly.

btw, will you email me your de Niro avatar Pleeeeeeese?

Companies arecompelled to enforce trademark infringements or they will lose the rights to their trademark. The government (as least in the US) puts the burden of checking and enforcement (through the civil court system) on the holders of the trademark.

Most large companies could care less about trivial uses of their names, andno doubtspend more dollars in clipping fees and attorney fees fighting these seemingly asinine cases.

There are many generic terms that were once company owned trademarks, like aspirin and thermos.

.....
Next is the Mickey Mouse syndrome... even the old pre-war Disney company would sue anyone in sight if they glommed onto the value of Disney's hundreds of seervice marks and characters. All companys caught onto that.
.......
yeah. Had to chuckle when the HA took on Disney for copywrite infringement.

If they changed their name to BigTwin Mania instead, would they sell better to pubescent young males?
