If you have an 08 model, then the siren goes on the left side and the instructions that come with it are wrong....ask me how I know

For my next thread: Do you get on your bike from the left or right side? If the left side is the right side, then the right side must be the wrong side, right?

Exactly, for some reason they moved the siren mounting position to the left side on the new 08's and didn't bother to update the installation instructions. Good luck on your future projects.

This all depends on whether you are looking at the bike from the right side to be correct. If you happen to be looking at the bike from the wrong side then it just can't be right now can it? Besides...who can be right if they left you the wrong instructions in the first place. What if you areliving in the UK? Under those circumstancesyour normal wrong right side is right and not left and the correct left side is right. Just be careful when you turn right because it's just as dangerous as turning left here in the USA. My best advice is to Fly to London and show those directions tosomeone there who knows motorcycles and they will be able to tell you if you are right or not right. If that is not possible then first you must determine if you are holding the instructions in your right or left hand while viewing the motorcycle from your right or left eye.

Here is a simple formula to aid you in finding the right answer:

Sit on and face the motorcycle North at 6:00am EST: (RH +LH on grips)+(RF &LF on pegs) + (RE & LE looking forward)+ (RC&LC on seat)Now remain in this position until 6:00pmEST. The sunset will illuminate the left side of your bike IF you are positioned somewhere in the Western Hemisphere.
Note: if it happens to be overcast remain in this position until the weather clears and try again.

Good luck!
