It costs a ton to run a forum of this size. Just upgrading the servers and software is very expensive. I am the Admin here and work directly for Amanda who takes care of the advertising. This is a privately owned forum and they are in the business of making money. Most of the profit and upgrades come from the sponsors. Any money you donate stays here on HDF for other upgrades. Most forums of this size require dues or a payment to join. We will never do that. You can read HDF without being a member which is one of the main reasons we get so many new members.

At the risk of being the only fish swimming up stream, what the hell does it cost to run this site anyway? Seems to me the members do most of the work... heck, I don't even know who is running this, where, why, and what the expenses or income might be..

I'll cough up a little dough. I have found alot of good info. But can you block the phrase "try using the search function". I hate getting that reply after I have in fact searched and did not find the answer I was looking for.

This is the best $20 ever spent, this forum has brought more smiles, and information than anywhere else, maybe it should be $20 a month, and even then it would be money well spent, thanks for all you do.
