I also have a 03 RKC and wish it were faster. I think Harley needs to step up and give us water cooled motors with 100hp+ off the show room floor, not just on the VROD buth the entire lineup.
Every metric cruiser can beat a Harley 0-60, 1/4 mile and top end. Why does it have to be like that? We have the premium brand with the premium pricetag. We should get a bike that we can open the throttle up from time to time and feel that adrenalin kick in.
With all that said I love my bike, the image and the sound. Just want more power.

Mine is fast enough for me. But if you had to look for a reason that they are not rice rocket fast. External push rods (ancient technology but it is part of what makes a Harley IMHO) & a lower revving engine.

As far as a mini-van beating any bike much aless a HD loaded with mucho torque , thats bull - pure and simple . Somebody needs to coordinate their throttle hand with their clutch hand !
