I agree with 99octane, whatever it was he said. If you want a good bike, get a Harley. If you want a musical instrument, get a Yamaha. Leave the engineering to the engineers.

No. Following that reasoning, the exhaust pipes shoudln't be larger than the exhaust valve...
The exhaust port obviously has an influence, but it's the pipe diameter and length that matters.

The true duals seem to make my bike run cooler. Maybe it's the fact that there is no pipe cooking my right thigh. Anyway, I like the look and sound. My bike has enough power to pull me and the wife up a mountian or cruise down the highway or even hit freeway cruising speeds. I could care less about variable pipe diameters or scavenging orplaying trumpets. It's a bike for heavens sake. If I wanted horsepower I'd ride a Busa. I opted for the comfort of a road sofa with al the conveniences thereon. Let the racer boys figure out more power exhaust size crap. Me--I just ride

I just tried to explain how it works for those with a technical interest. You're not interested? Just skip it.
Power is just a way to burn gas. The other is getting miles behind your back. If you mess up the exhaust, you may find burning twice as much gas for the same distance. I know it doesn't matter there, but with gas at almost 2$ per _liter_ it matters a lot here in Italy...

What about the Vinnie & Hineys that everyone is running that are worse than the Rineharts? Most people do not know how to tune the Rineharts.
