Lightweight jackets
The thread about the Power Ranger jacket got me thinkin' and looking and looking for a lightwieght mesh leather or textile jacket for those hot summer days. Anyone have a good one or any ideas. A lot of them I looked at either aren't made for someone with a chest over 52 inches or come in nothing but neon colors. I'm not looking to spend $300 on a mesh jacket either, I live in the northland so most of the time my heavy leather is what I need, but we do have those 80+ degree days in the summer. Any opinions would be appreciated.

RE: Lightweight jackets
I only wear summer type jackets, where I live, in SW Florida. The 2 jackets I have are a Power Trip Voodoo jacket, that was recommended by a few of the forum members and a Cortech Coastal Flyer. The Cortech is black perforated leather and comes with a zip out liner. The Power Trip is black with leather and mesh. They both have armor.I like the Power trip best and would highly recommend it. It was also considerably cheaper then the Cortech. I think I paid $79 for it, 1 1/2 years ago. They were going out of production, but found a site that still sold them.

RE: Lightweight jackets
Olympia makes the best mesh jacket I have seen. I have had 4 different ones and it is by far the best.
The liner is almost worth the price of the jacket. It looks good enough to wear by itself(which I do) and is very warm. In fact I use the Olympia liner with my winter jacket cause it's better. I have been wearing mine for three years as a primary jacket and It is holding up very well.
They are expensive ($220) but worth every penny, but are hard to find. Most BMW dealers carry them but the only online source I have found is https://www.motoliberty.com/prod_detail.asp?Prod_ID=252

How about a denim jacket and a leather vest? Not too expensive, and easy to adjust depending on conditions. Jacket and vest - jacket no vest - vest over long sleeve - vest over short sleeve - vest over bare skin (hah, not my style).
Years back I got the HD Aeration jacket - leather with perforations. Problem is, it's still hot and uncomfortable when it's nice out and you're in slow traffic. Alternately, I've froze my butt off at highway speed when I hit some higher elevations. All in all it's been a waste of a lot of money.

Neon colors at Harley stores? I've got a couple good textile Harley jackets, but all have the same problem: Black! Like wearing an oven in sommertime. Had a silver textile, Bates-style once that had a Vortex industries tag inside. Paramedics sliced it off me once, wish I would have bought 5. Could wear it mid day at 100 and had enough windproofing for 20 degree rides.
