ye olde Deluxe..

RE: ye olde Deluxe..
Neither one of them are sissy bikes. An old knuck is my dream bike. My grandfather rode a 1945 knuckle after the war ended. Women tend to buy Deluxes because they have a lower factory seat height. If that makes it a girl's bike, then mine must be super girly with the seat height even lower! Personally, I like seeing girls riding Deluxes... especially when they aren't just out following their old man around. If they had the good taste to pick out such a beautiful bike, then how can I say that's a bad thing? I was all lined up to get a Heritage and then I saw he Deluxe and my mind was instantly changed. It was already close to what I had planned to transform a Heritage into. What can I say, I'm just a 240lb sissy.

FYI - 47 was the last knuck and 48 first pan but with the springer front end, yet. 49 first Hydra's
As to the DeLuxe - if a chick buys it and rides it, it is a "chick" bike
Likewise with a Sporty, Ultra, Heritage, etc.
If a guy buys it and rides it, it is a "guy" bike.
Not sure what all the debate has been about. Appears clear as mud to me.

What a bunch of BS.
Guys bike, girls bike.
Who cares.

I cant tell if any of Harley's out there are boys bikes or girls bikes, unless I lift up their skirt and take a peek......and that's just rude, so I don't do it. Therefor I must assume that Harley Davidson Motorcycles are not gender specific.
I see plenty of hot looking females riding all sorts of models....from Touring to Sportster. I dont know why so many people get all hung up on if this model or that model is a girls bike. I see plenty of guys riding Sportsters....and I see plenty of girls riding Road Kings.
So to answer your question....no I dont think the deluxe is a girls bike....new model or old!

I thinkthere's just a bunch of insecure guys running around this site being overly concerned if this or that is gay or if this or that bike is too girly. Someone did a poll a while back of the Deluxe riders on this site and the guys outnumbered the gals by two to one. I just think they're really beautiful bikes with clean classic lines that won't ever go out of style. Very art deco and retro at the same time:

I don't get it with some guys.
How can a mode of transport be gender specific?
Are some people so insecure in their own skin that they have to ride/drive
something to re-enforce their sexuality.
I also drive a Miata/mx5 just because it happens to be the best lightweight
roadster ever built and I don't care what ANYBODY thinks.
