Default HD iron-on patches

I recently bought an "iron-on" (so the price tag was marked) patch at a harley store to solve a dlimna. Movers ripped a small gash in a sofa and the dog keeps pulling out the stuffing and chewing on it. After trying to peel off the backing, I determined that it wasn't meant to come off. No matter how hot the iron, it won't stick. Did I get shafted buying a sew-on marked as an iron-on? Anybody know how to tell them apart? I've got one more day before the dog comes back home to fix. 3M spray adhesive doesn't want to stick to the microfiber fabric of the couch.

Should have spent the money the movers paid for the damaged couch on something other than an iron on patch, IMHO...

Not sure what will stick to the micro fiber. Maybe try sewing the patch on after you pull the tear in the couch together? A needle and thread are not that difficult to work, and there are no moving parts!

But then, you have to wonder if the dog will like the patch more than he did the couch...

Either that or obedience lessons for the dog. Maybe crate train the mutt.

Go to one of those sewing centers and get you a curved needle and a swatch of material and some good thread and sew a patch over that area. One of them ladies at the sewing store should be able to tell you how to do it.

I'd bet money the OP has gotten his problem solved, since he posted this 5 years ago.
