Default Boozin & Biking . . . . .

I know this haz been covered in a few threads here but now that I got the riding fever again and the winter is at the half way mark I wuz wonderin. . .

What are your feelings about drinkin & ridin?

Me, well let’s just say I like the bottle a bit too much.

I am not here to judge and lord knows I have done my share of insane things in my time but I feel that there is enough goin on out on the roads to worry about fer me not to add the effects of alcohol to the mix.

What’s yer take?

peace --N.

The fact is, it's not the rider's life at stake.

To me, it's always fun to go to one of the bike nights and drink a beer on a summer evening. We always limit ourselves to a couple and that's all.

I made it thru my youth with alot of luck thrown in. I'm at a point in life now where I need everything going for me that I can get when I'm riding and that doesn't include booze. My habits now include zero booze when riding. When I'm on trips I stay in motels that have food and booze on the premises or atleast are within walking distance. Once I've taken a drink the bike stays parked.

A couple of years ago I was a little out of control and going way too far. These days I take a little easier. Way too many people getting DUI's around me.

I usually keep it to 2 beers or less. That seems like the safe amount for me.
