RE: BAD Dealers and Experiences
I am very disappointed in Vreeland Harley Davidson in Bloomsburg, PA. I and five of my closest friends and riding buddies recently had occasion to visit this dealer as part of a five day riding excursion from Canada through NY and PA. Bloomsburg was one of our stops and, as per our usual practice, we always visit the local Harley Dealership to pick up souvenirs and meet the locals, etc. Between the six of use we probably spent about $500 to $600 in the store on June 5, 2006. The next day we were on our way again to our next destination when one of our group was seriously injured in an accident about four miles from the dealership. Since they were all w knew, we called Vreelands for assistance in getting the damaged bike to our next destination from where we could take it the rest of the way. It just so happens that the injured rider owns a Harley dealership back home and had arranged for his people to meet us in Corning to pick up the bike and him for the journey home. Long story short - Vreelands flat out refused to help us at all citing they were "too busy". Now I know that they are in the business of selling motorcycles and not providing a towing service but plain old human compassion would have at least led them to offer up alternatives as they are familiar with the area and could have led us in the right direction as to who else to call. They were apparently even too busy to do that as they gave us a big fat bupkuss. We got no assistance from them what so ever. We eventually found a shop that gave us a guy, a truck and a trailer that towed the bike to Corning, NY for a paltry $150.00. We would have paid twice that. We gave the kid extra bucks because he was a great guy and helped us alot.
So, to Vreelands Harley Davidson in Bloomsburg PA, I offer you a heartfelt[:'(] raspberry. I am only too glad that I do not have to deal with these folks on a regular basis. One would expect a little compassion from someone in the business of selling motorcycl

RE: BAD Dealers and Experiences
I'm sorry about what you went threw friend but I have to tell you, in the North East the local harley Dealers are for the most part jerks! It's like they're all wanna be 1%ters or something. Manchester Harley isn't too bad but Kelley's in Billerica MA have their heads firmly placed where the sun doesn't shine. I know a LOT of riders. A LOT, who ride none Harleys because they got pissed off while shopping for one. Heck I have a friend who bought a Harley in CT because the local dealers treated him like crap ... and he lives in NH. To be very honest they all seem to be getting better. the Harley market isn't what it was two years ago and now they are actually trying to treat their customers like they CARE about their business ....... but they burnt a LOT of bridges. ........... Incuding mine! I'll be buying my 1st Harley next season after my daughter's wedding, and i can't wait ... I've ALWAYS wanted a Harley ... but if it weren't for the jerks at Kelley's I would have owned one 4 years ago! [:@] Today I'm on a Honda VTX1800 ... and the jerks at Kelley's Harley talked me into buying it ... in a way. When I finally buy it won't be with them regardless how they may have changed!!

RE: BAD Dealers and Experiences
I took off for the Blue Ridge Parkway Wednesday (June 14, 2006) in the afternoon. I noticed that I had lost the rubber boot/plastic nut that covers the odometer/trip switch on the second tank of fuel. Not a major deal but thought rather than taking a chance of screwing up the poles on the back side of the switch everytime I reset the trip I would stop at a dealership along the way and replace it.
Thursday morning while everyone was having breakfast and getting ready to head farther east, I called the dealer where I buy parts and what I call my local dealer, (Legacy Harley Davidson Effingham, IL). I talked to the young lady and told her who I was and where I was at, and asked if there was anyway I could get a name of a few dealerships along I 64 east of Huntington WV. She asked if she could call me back in a few minutes. I said sure, confirmed she had my number (knowing they had it in their customer records anyway.)
Star date log June 26, 2006 still waiting for the call back...

RE: BAD Dealers and Experiences
Brians HD in Langhorne, PA. a friend has a Fat Boy that he took in for some oil leak. when he FINALLY get his wheel back- he notices some strange things.... spider lights didnt work (they cut a wire), tool box was smashed on the left side, seat wasnt bolted on.... and the best--- a broken cooling fin on the jug. the only thing that couldve caused that damage was the bike falling off the lift. they fixed everything with the exception of the jug. their reply was 'it doesnt do anything- the bike will be fine'.
another buddy took his RKC/sidecar into the same dealer for a service. when he went to pick it up- the fender on the sidecar was damaged. they denied doing it. the only problem was that there was yellow paint on the fender from the yellow-painted pole that guards the entrance to the service dept! after MUCH haggling and threats- they finally agreed to fix it.
then the repair was shoddy so they ordered him a new fender. the new fender's pinstripes didnt match the car/bike... to this day- its still not 100%.
unfortunately- i bought my RKC from them as they were the only stealer who had the color i wanted. when i signed all of the paperwork- i was adamant about not wanting the wheel state-inspected (no sticker slapped on). the salesman told me that he "could NOT" sell an uninspected bike. so- i instructed him to put masking tape on the fork legs and then put the insp sticker on--- itd be much easier to remove. no again... we went into the service dept and spoke to the mgr. he looked at me like i was from mars.... and said 'we can lose our inspection license! no way- we cant do that!'
so- i suggested an inspection plate. we all agreed that it would work... the salesman then says "yeah- ill have to find one... i think theyre like $25" [sm=wtf.gif] i looked at him and said "if you think im spending $25 for an inspection plate- for a sticker that i dont even want, youre nuts" youd figure that we are spending ~$20K for a new bike- a $25 plate wouldnt even be an issue. right.... so, as we left, i told him to figure something out and left it at that.
the next day- the wife and i took delivery of the RKC and the salesman got nice and close to me and whispered "hey- theres no inspection sticker on there." and winked and nudged me- like he pulled a fast one on the service guys.
geeez- thanks dude.

Stay away from Jay cee design in Oxford CT they are ripping people of for paint jobs they wanted 4700.00 for two tone paint on a low rider. I had to pay 900.00 just to get my stuff back they worked on my stuff with out my permission than they gave me the estimate it was easier to pay them than to go through hassle of not having my bike real scumbags stay away. I now have a new painter he is doing the for 1700.00
