Agree with Airborne, bought a sportser from Ray Price back in 94 when they first moved into the store next to meridian Honda, took about two weeks of putting up with them before I would never drop a dime in that shop again. AVOID like the plauge!!!

This is where dealers screw up. They need to learn to set expectations better.

Instead of giving you a best case date of Friday, then another of Monday, they should have given you 2 more weeks out.
Then when it comes in early, you will be happy!

Can't really blame a dealer for delays in shipping.

Montgomery Alabama dealership's people are terrible. Enough said. I would never buy new from them. Will travel 65 miles north to Pelham at the new Heart of Dixie any day.

I took delivery of my 2006 Harley Davidson Streetglide on Monday April 10, 2006 at approximately 6:00 pm. It was purchased at ***'s Harley Davidson in Asheboro, NC.
On Thursday April the 13th. With 210 miles on the bike I loaded a cd into the player and
headed for Fayetteville, NC. The cd player wouldn't acknowledge the cd that had been inserted and wouldn't eject it either. In fact when you try to access the cd mode, the entire player locks up, and has to be powered off, and back on, for the radio to work.

Approximately 40 miles into my ride I noticed a sound coming from the rear of the bike.
It was similar to the singing noise you hear from large off-road tires. I headed straight for Cape Fear Harley Davidson where they diagnosed the problem as the drive belt being "way too tight". They also said that my clutch needed an adjustment and they took care of both of those problems right away.

First thing this morning I called ***'s to set up an appointment to have my CD player replaced. Bill (in the service department) explained the procedure for diagnosing and replacing the cd player (which involved sending mine in to Harmon Kardon and a new one being shipped out within a few days) and I told him I wasn't happy about being without a stereo on my bike, for 3 or 4 days while they shipped a new one. He basically said "that's the way itis done". I placed a second call to the dealership and explained my position to the finance guy (Kevin) with whom I had spoken on several occasions. He couldn't have been more respectful, and stated he wanted to help resolve the issue, and would speak to Bill in service to see if anything could be done. Within minutes my phone rang and it was Bill.
He said "Kevin just spoke to me about your cd player...did you need clarification on what I told you earlier"? Which I took as VERY sarcastic and totally out of line!! I again stated my position that I wasn't happy about being without a stereo on a $21,000.00 bike, that I purchased 4 days ago!

His sarcasm bothered me to the point that I called Kevin again and described what had happened.

Shortly, I received a call from Robby *** (the owners son). He again told me what the Harley Davidson procedure is for this circumstance and that there was nothing that could be done.
That's when things went downhill! I said something to this effect:

Try to look at this from the consumers' standpoint. With 20 motorcycles sitting there with stereos in them,
why can't I get a "loaner" or "replacement" from one of those? Furthermore, I can't help but feel as though, now that you have my money, I'm stuck with whatever policy or procedure you want to implement.

At that point he raised his voice with me and wouldn't let me say anything! So, I said "thanks for your time" and hung up while he was still ranting. A few minutes later my phone indidcated that I had a voice mail. It was Robby calling to tell me that he was taking me off the appointment book for Monday and to "take my business somewhere else".
An hour or so later he called me again and seemed somewhat calmer. I tried again to make him see my point, and, in fact, he did seem to. I told him that what I said earlier was in NO way personal towards him. But perhaps Harley Davidson should take a second look at the "procedure" for correcting a well documented and common failure in these CD players. Wouldn't it be better customer service to immediately rectify the problem and make the customer whole? He asked me if I wanted him to cancel my appointment as he had stated in the voice mail, I told him I wanted to think about it and that set him off again. And he once again told me to "take my business somewhere else".

First let me say that in NO way did I precipitate that kind of treatment!! I was NOT rude, disrespectful or loud with ANYBODY I spoke to at the dealership! To say that I am astonished by the treatment I received, would be an understatement! If I HAD been rude or dis

Went to Kelley's Harley in Billerica 2 years ago looking for my 1st Harley. I was going to look for a new bike but 2 years ago all the local dealers were charging way over MSRP for Harley's so I decided to look for used. I Found a nice used Sporty 1200 done up like a smaller Road king. Had the Fat Bob tank, hard bags, windshield, custom paint, etc. Smaller than i wanted but i was really impressed with the bike so i decided to buy. This was the middle of winter, early Feb. in New England. Below freezing, snow on the ground, snowing outside. The salesman wouldn't even consider my then bike a Yamaha Roadstar on trade but I wanted the Sporty so I was going to finance the Sporty and sell the Roadstar myself.

While talking about the bike with the salesman (with three other customers standing right behind me waiting their turn to be waited on) I asked about when I need to pick it up and about the used bike warentee. The sales man said I had to take delivery THAT WEEK and that the warentee was (If I recall correctly) 30 days. I told the guy I obviously can't get the bike in the SNOW and he said for a FEE they would deliver it to me. Well I wanted the bike so I said ... OK but when will my 30 day warentee start? And the reply was "upon delivery." I argued what good is that warentee too me! The fork could be bent, the motor could be shot ... I CAN'T even test ride the bike until spring! The guy said ... too bad! We went over the bike, it's in top shape and you'll just have to trust us. Then he said ... "hey if you don't like it WALK, someone else will buy it!" All the while the girl was writting up a contract for me. I took the contract from the desk and tore it up and started walking out. The three customers behind me watched the whole thing ... ALL THREE (total strangers) walked out with me loudly talking about what a jerk the salesman was and how none of them would ever buy there. One guy had his cell phone and put a call in to Manchester Harley while we were all standing in the reception room of Kelley's and asked "If I buy a new or used bike today do I have to take delivery today?" And the saleman on the phone said "Of course not ... it's winter! If you by a bike from us we'll hold it until the spring no extra charge!" And the guy asked when the warentee would start and the salesman said "When you pick up your bike in the spring." The guy with the phone loudly said to we three strangers "See all you guys in Manchester" and we all walked out.

As a follow up I never bought (up until now) a Harley because Kelley's pissed me off so much but next year i plan too so I went to Kelley's a few weeks ago and it was totally different. They were friendly, charging MSRP for their new bikes and will even take my metric on trade. How things have changed!
