Geoff,
I think that's a great promo idea for the MoCo. But, I'll bet the VP of Marketing & Mysterious Strategies would use it to sponsor Toyota[&o][&o]!

Yeah, was just funnin'. Ford would seem to be the right nameplate partner. But think the deals are done with the car owners/syndicates. Jerry McGuire... "Show me the MONEY!!"

Nah...H-D's already in bed with Ford --- the Harley edition pickups, plus I believe their financing is done through a partnership with FoMoCo.

I was reading a article this morning that said that Yates Racing had 2 Fords with no sponsor's as of yet for this year...OK HD step right up

There's no reason/incentive for them to cough up that much dough right now. Until they get a real competitor, we'll have to settle for Viagra and Pamper's! All joking aside, why aren't there any dental care products sponsored cars?

They've actually done some sponsorship of Nascar previously. The were primary sponsor for Rusty Wallace in 2000, while he was still racing a Ford, for 3 races that year.

Why would they,NHRA is groing faster than NASCAR, and they make a ton of money when they have the midway set up at the races. You see people carry stuff out of the tent all day long.
You should go to an NHRA race, and check it out, I bet you would get hooked just like I did back in 1980, it is the most awesome thing to see in person,TV does nothing for NHRA. TV makes almost everything else better including NASCAR (been to 3 races).
Sorry I am hooked on the NHRA I go to Joliet ILL. and the US Nationals every year.

NHRA may go faster , but car is only on the track for mere seconds....entire race weekend there is less "track time" than a single lap in NASCAR , plus NASCAR has a MUCH larger schedule ,which other than ontrack time is also more time the haulers are crisscrossing the nation (reaching out to the folks that DON'T watch auto racing).
I'd rather see them drop a much less larger sum of perhaps 5 million a year (yeah that IS a small number in major racing) and put thier name on several cars of different classes on the local level. I think there would be a MUCH bigger bang for the buck , and it's not a matter of on track performance , it's more the car being seen enroute to & from the track in traffice with many people noticing it.....Just my thought
Then again I'd love to be one of the recipients for my car!!!! outlawmodified.com #20

Nascar sponsorship comeswith almost 24/7 speed channel banter; pre-game, post game and every weeks race is treated like the superbowl by the network. A top 10 car can be seen constantly on tv for 3 hours. NHRA only wishes they could offer this kind of exposure! Not sure which Ford driver would best present the right image for HD.
