"High Beams or low Beams a cage will not see you either way while they are talking on the cell phone. Who cares how fast the other bike is going? Enjoy your ride."

Sometimes im astonished at what some people will post on here. I truly think this guy wants some attention. Tell you what, why don't we just appoint you the Safety Commission Chairman with all your bright ideas. I can't believe this thread.

What's with the rookies on bikes who have their high beams on during the daytime? IMHO it does not make it easier to be seen, low beam will be just fine thankyou. Everytime I see this I find that it just makes it harder to judge how fast the bike is coming towards me. Not to mention how it seems to hurt the eyeballs. If the cagedrivers can't see you with yer lows on what difference is hi going to make?

RE: High Beams
don't care.
I want the goobers to see me. I ride (when commuting) with a reflective vest, 5 - count 'em - 5 lights on; headlight, passing lights, fog lights both day and night. about half the time I ride with the high beam on. people can't tell or don't care how fast you're traveling anyway. if the little piece of highway I light up makes them hesitate pulling out in front of me, I'll change all 5 bulbs at a time every year.
ride safe,
airdog

RE: High Beams
I started running my high beam in the day light several years ago, when on a small group ride the leader said he could hardly see my low beam. It may be a coincident, but it seems like I have not had one cage turn left in front of me causing me to slam the front brake ever since I started running the high beam. (Knock knock on wood)

RE: High Beams
Another vote for high beams here. I didn't believe one was better t han two but after asking a Buddy and us conducting an experiment, you CAN see one on high versus three on low. So i ride with the highs on. Like others , I have a very white bulb in my headlight, a sylvania silverstar and the drivers will adjust their mirrors during the daytime. Anything to make me visible is worth my effort.
As for the rookie comment... well I think you've seen the error of your ways. Never label anyone else unless you know them.
Ride safe (with high beams on)
Bubba
PS I really thought this thread was about some woman
