How long will it last?

RE: How long will it last?
I sold a '73 FLHT shovel with just over 86k miles on the odometer. It was still going strong when I sold it.The only work it neededwas routine maintenance. It did have an appetite for voltage regulators, however.

Drive it like you stole it but keep the fluids right 100K per dealer. I know a guy that has 3 harleys and all but one has over 100K. He doesnt own an automobile. If he goes ANYWHERE period its on his bike. He works a normal job and rides EVERY DAY no matter what the weather is like. Snow, ice, or what ever he rides. He has been doing this longer than I have been alive per people that grew up with him. He has aHarleybuilt back in the 70swith over 100K on it. This guy is hard core.

MYO6NT, I had a 96 Road King until this year with 83,000 miles on it. Ran dino oil and took reasonably good care of it, but rode the heck out of it. I just sold it this year and bought a 04 FLHTP with 9 miles on it. I plan to run the heck out of this one too. Don't lug em in high gear, they are made to run and run hard. Good luck and welcome to the forum. I jumped over from "the other" forum and find this place to be informative and supportive if you have any problems.

A littletwist on the subject: Suggest you get a service manual if you don't already have one. Knowing the bike, what to check, when to check it and how to correct a problem can make all the difference in the world on the life of you sled. Even if you are not mechanically inclined the manual is a wealth of info and worth the investment. Just something to consider..
Hope this helps.
