Default Wanted: suggestions for Las Vegas Road Trip

I'm gonna rent bikes in Vegas this summer. Anyone have suggestions for a daytrip?

I'd suggest you ride to Vegas. Stay for a few days and ride home. You should never stay in that town for more than 3 days. Renting bikes is also lame.

Ditto on Valley of Fire. The folks at the rental desk will give you directions.

Don't forget how hot it is. I am not sure when you are going but when I was there with my girlfriend in August/September, it was 108 degrees. Air temp gage on the Ultra goes to 120 and it was pegged.

Go there very fast and leave there faster. I ride there every year because my son lives there. Go to the dam and to Lauflan (sp) .[sm=badbadbad.gif]

Valley of Fire -- Go north on I-15 from Vegas. You'll see the exits. About a 25 to 30 minute ride at highway speeds. Here's a few pics from my visit in November.

What time of summer are you going? It is HOT ... HOT ... HOT in Vegas in July and August, so be prepared. Temperatures in the 100+ range very day. Take some water with you if you go out of town. And don't let 'em kid you ... it may be a dry heat ... but when it's over 100 it's just a HOT heat.

Other great spots ... head out through Henderson to Laughlin then come back up through Hoover Dam.

Contact jmcollison on this forum for lots of great roads. He lives in Vegas and is usually pretty good for directions and suggestions.
