Try to stay positive, as hard as that may be right now. This particular cancer has anextremely high recovery rate when caught fairly early. You will beat this.

 

Been there, done that. I was 47 when diagnosed with a Gleason of 7.5. Six of six samples taken showed cancer. I had the total removal. Thirteen years later, I'm still on the sunny side of the grass. PSA is 0.04 or lower. There can some problems with total removal, but they sure beat the alternatives. As long as the cancer remains in the gland and doesn't show up elsewhere, you should be in great shape. If you do have the surgery, the pathology report hopefully will show all the "cut lines" are clean (no cancer detected there) you should be OK. Good luck!!!!

 

Can any of you guys tells us youngerbucks how you initially found out you had prostate cancer? We all know at about 40 or so, you should have an annual exam with Dr. Longfinger and hope you don't feel both hands on your shoulders during the exam, but did any of you gentlemen that had prostate cancer and gone on to beat it, ever have any symptoms and said "I better go get checked".

I know its very hereditary and often times caught with routine exam, but is there anything to watch out for those of us in life just getting into the batters box of having the annual exams just for the "fun" of it?

I was diagnosed with cancer about 14 months ago, age 46..... different cancer, but I had surgery and just had my 1 year CT scan done and I am cancer free... YOU CAN BEAT THIS! A positive attitude and a couple of opinions from the prople who know and you will be fine! Surround yourself with positive people and have good thoughts.

Get a second opinion and act quickly.You want to treat the cancer asap.Life is more important then sex,that shouldnt be a major concern.You are in our prayers,just keep smilin and beat that chit
