RE: Trailer ideas
Have you done your research on what your bike can safely handle? You might already have this information, but it doesn't hurt to go over it on HDF so that others who may not be as familiar with trailer requirements have the information as well.
You have to look up the max GVWR in your owners manual, subtract the weight of the bike, yourself and any passengers, whatever gear you plan on packing with you, and what you plan on hauling in the trailer. That will provide you with the max dry weight of the trailer your scoot can safely handle. Then you can compare what's out there by what you need.
Here's a link to about 70 or 80 motorcycle trailer manufacturers:

HF trailer kit. Make sure you buy the 8" wheels and NOT the 12" wheels kit.
Sheet of 3/4 inch plywood.
Sears 20 cubic foot cartopper.
Lengthen the tongue 18"
Narrow the frame to 36"
Pulls like a dream.

RE: Trailer ideas
I'm working up something like Mikeeee has. I have the Harbor Freight trailer and i'm thinking I can lighten it up ALOT. Trailer alone weighs 155 libs without the carrier. I am actually impressed with how heavy the frame is made on this. I'm thinking after a couple of hours with a holesaw and a drill press I can shave off 50 lbs....

RE: Trailer ideas
There are lots of nice trailers out there. I chose an Aluma because of it's construction (aluminum), torsion rubber axles, 12" tires and boxy interior. The fancy shapes look nice but are impractical for loading and unloading. I would try to keep overall weight below 400 pounds, more because of braking concerns than anything else.
