See, the thing is Kolni that it's people like this guy that cause us to lose our freedoms. I'm all for loud pipes, but there's a time and a place. I know that this was at a motorcycle show, but something tells me this guy practices that kind of disregard for other people quite often.

I mean come one. The sheep are gonna pass laws no matter what. And I am not worried about stuff like pipe laws. Wanta know why? Cause they rarely, if ever get enforced! And in my area, when is does get enforced it is a fix-it ticket. Change out the pipes, get a police sign off, put pipes back on..and I am done.
Did you know it is illegal to change mufflers on cars here in california?
Did you know that most people ignore it and change them anyways?
In short..I don't carer aboutb laws that I know they can't enforce.

I have yet to see a rider that has not done something similar. Most riders get the urge occasionally and do exactly the same thing. To quote some childish riddle regarding rectal polyps shows what a coward some are. Sometimes it hard to fathom that HD will sell a bike to any "rectal polyp". Grow up!

See you are not a true blue Harley owner, what the fellow did was Harley foreplay!
Do you walk up to a woman and expect some serious loving? Don't think so. A Harley is like a woman but better, you need to start with your bike gently by walking around the bike and looking at the bike, you then need to softly sit on the bike making sure not to upset the balance, after you are comfortable on the bike you can then gently insert the key and turn the bike on. It is usually at this point that the bike welcomes a few raps on the throttle as bike responds to the quick raps on the throttle....
Get my drift?

That would be a good way to think. Only thing is that when lawmakers pass laws that encroach on our freedoms, it's much easier to pass the next one that is even more offensive.
And you're right, there's no possible way that I could know the guy did that in quiet residential neighborhoods.
I had just seen enough of the wannabes that day (of which this guy fit the profile) and that was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.
You have to understand that I am normally a very laid back kinda guy. If I were able to confront this guy, I would ask him why he did what he did. Whatever his answer, I would use that opportunity to ask him for all other riders' sake to please practice respect when doing that and to not do it in quiet residential areas as that may force us all to suffer.
Now, if the guy lived next door to me and did it repeatedly after I asked him to stop as it was disturbing what normal people would consider quiet time, I would have to be a little more forceful.
In all honesty, I took the opportunity to write about some people's lack of respect and how it's affecting us all.
