Default Harley Riders that sail . . . . .

Hey all, I know,
wrong audience but I thought I'd share anyway!

If you read "Latitudes and Atitudes", check the February issue page 65! You'll see in the lower right a photo of my dauhter Taryn that I took! My wife got the Kudo's but that's OK, it was published!

I now return you to your regularly scheduled Harley Forum . . . .

Life long goal of mine was to learn to sail and have a respectable weekender. Had to settle for the Ultra Classic and a 20 ft pontoon for our local 9000 acre man made lake. I suppose that settleing isnt always a bad thing.

Still a dream of mine. One day, when I hit the lottery, and the wife gets over that motion sickness thing, I swear I am going to the coast and looking for the first guy that looks like captian Ron!

I spent 16 years racing inland one designs. Life long dream is an ocean boat. Wife's dream was an RV. Needless to say, I'm still waiting on the boat. Will be taking her out on big water next month, so there's still hope as long as she doesn't get sea sick.

This lil tub will sleep 2 comfortably and 5 supposedly. I sail her a good bit and one of my favorite things to do is to hang the boom hammock and sail her while hanging in the rack. I usually have to weigh the anchor after an hour or so, it makes me sleepy to do that
very long.

Well,
I'm not exactly Cap'n Ron but I am currenlty qualified for my OUPV and working on my masters. I hope to complete the final tests by mid Feb and apply. If you are anywhere near Seattle, look me up! You bring Captain Morgan I'll provide the boat!

That's a nice lookin rig x2lee! What is she?

Sailingwas the main thing thatprompted me and my wife to move from Michigan to San Diego back in '76. It didn't make sense to keep a boat on a cradle what seemed like half the year.

The high point of my sailing life was when a couple buddies and I sailed from San Diego to Hawaii in 1982.

I gave up sailing when my kids got to an age that they wanted more action. They wanted to ski and wake board, so I sold out and bought a stinkpotter. Now they've grown up and left me with this motorboat, and I wish I had my sailboat back.

It's why I have the user name. Seemed my crew wass always pulling a mutiny.

Lecomte Northeast 38 is parked next to the garage. ( note my login name ) A couple of years ago, when my youngest graduated college, I sold my house, quit my job, gave away 95% of my possessions and moved aboard my boat.
UNEMPLOYED AND HOMELESS! That was the best time of my life. I was heading for the Caribbean when my mom got sick and wrecked that plan.
