Excellent riding area. Check out Dolly Sods wilderness area. Hwy 220 south out of Petersberg WV is one of my favorites. Hwy 33 east out of WV into Va is GREAT. Stop in at the White Grass ski center in Cannan Valley and get a good meal at the cafe if it is open. From there ....the list could go on forever.

Holy crap, you read my mind. I was about to post the same stuff, scrolled down and you beat me to it. Dolly Sods is great. Very rugged though- be prepared for "real camping", i.e. no amenities. I've done a lot of backpacking through there- need to go back one of these days. I think that Hwy 33 is one of the most scenic roads I have ever ridden- even considering the Pacific Coast Hwy, Yosemite, etc.

Guys thanks for all the great input. This sounds like it could be a great adventure for our group. The other two couples in our group don't know wherethe destination ofour trip. It has been decided that each couple is responsible for one weekend trip each this coming summer. You don't find out where we are going until the day we leave.

Thanks again and I will certainly be looking into the places you all mentioned.
