I have had mine as 20 years...... This said, anyone riding through the State of Washington will have their bike impounded if they are found operating their bike without out one...... So, If any of you head out to this part of the NW you might want to make sure you have an endorsement if crossing into this State...... Its bad JUJU if you don't!

 

Same here, since 1969 and I still have the same Tennessee Drivers License number!

I’ve heard one can get into some hefty fines fornot having a MDL, but I’ve never known anyone that did.

 

Actually had mine before I had my drivers license. I was 15 and had it but couldn't drive a "car" on my own until I had the drivers license. Had to carry some piece of paper on me that I still have in a scrapbook somewhere. Now I'm 37 so I've had one for 22 years. During a relocation several years ago, I had to get a new drivers license when moving back to Ohio. The DMV forgot to add my motorycle endorsement and Class A CDL on my new license that they just issued to me. I realized it when I got back to the office at work and was looking at it. I called them back immediately and they told me that I had to get back to their office before the end of the day so they could issue my new license with the correct endorsements before they ran my old license through the shredder at the end of their business day. Almost lost everything on that go around. Couldn't imagine going through all the crap again to get those endorsements again.

I do but most of my friends do not. In PA if you have a temp then technically you are not allowed to ride without a helmet, cannot ridetwo upand cannot ride at night.

 

i have had mine close to 40 years.since the state of iowa started it.it's not worth not haveing it.

Yep, got mine in '75. Rode before that but in different State and different country where I didn't need one.

 

Yep...have mine and my insurance company requires one to carry insurance thru them. I know alot of people that don't even have a permit...
