FHP: 2 Bikers Hit 100 mph Before Crash - Two men who wrecked their motorcycles while racing each other at speeds of more than 100 mph on State Road 520 have both been charged with reckless driving, the Florida Highway Patrol said today.

About 20 years ago I was driving through the salt river canyon and was coming up the south wall when I came on an acccident with two HD bikes laying in the road.
One actually up the side of the canyon wall, and the other in the middle of the other lane. There were two guys laying there, one about on the yellow stripe, and the other on the shoulder.
Looked like they were just passed out after an all nighter, but the guy there, I was probably the 10th person onsite, said kind of solomnly, "they're both dead".
It was the first time I'd seen anyone dead on the street, and they just looked kinda peaceful.
I think they were getting down the way the guys bike was up the wall the way it was.
They were headed down into the canyon.

Reckless Driving? What are you supposed to charge Ones that do that kind of speed and end up wrecking? Give them a medal because because they survived the crash? ... Duh!!

 

A Florida lawmaker has a bill in proposal to confiscate motorcycles for stunt riding, excessive speeding and most anything the LEO's can find to get the bikes. Andone wonders why this bill is being pushed.

 

Story on the news this morning about a Tamap crash that was similar to this one. The guy was speeding, on a sportbike, ran a redlight and broadsided an SUV. Killed himself and the SUV driver. It's gotten pretty out of hand down here in Florida with the sportbike crowd. I don't bash anytype of bike, and now some excellent riders who only ride sportbikes, however it is time that they do something to control these idiots.

 

Sounds like a Darwin award.

 

it is really bad downhere in south florida with this guys riding recklesly on the highways at nite.If they kill them selves no big deal is when they kill an innocent person that it really sucks.

 

Only once have I gone over 100mph on my bike.

And that was at an old abondoned air field.

Place and time people, place and time.

 

In Ontario,Canada police can confiscate your bike or car if you excede the speed limit by 35 mph and you drive the vehicle in dangerous way.Plus the driver pays hefty fine,up to 10G. Confiscation is for 1 week. Last fall this new law was announced on TV and everywhere else.But still police got lots of guys /hundreds/exceding the extra 35mph and claiming that they didn't know about new law.Mat
