Default Got to ride today...

Went with the local Southern Cruisers chapter on the Polar Bear ride. Wasn't too cold, in fact it was in the fifties. Did get to check out my new back rest I put on yesterday. Glad I bought the adjustable one, as I changed it several times throughout the ride. Rode about 150 miles, then came home and soaked in the hot tub. What a great day!!

I imagine in Ky you can pretty much ride year round, can't you?. Here in NJ it was in the mid 40s today so I got around 50 miles in.Suppose to be in the 60s tomorrow so I'll be out again. Want to get in all the time I can before the freeze sets in. This will be my first winter with my bike so I don't know how I'm going to adjust totwo or three months with no riding.

Sounds like you like your back rest. I was wondering, do they flip down to make it easier for the passenger to get on or are they fixed in the up position?

I rode a little round town for about an hour. It was in the 50's real close to 60. Got a couple nice mid 60 degree days coming this week. Not to shabby for Jan. in the northeast.

190-200 miles for me today! Was invited to ride with 5 other riders... jumped at the chance! Kinda' windy (gusts to 30 MPH)... but still a good ride.

No, the riding weather will be getting scarcer and scarcer around here. It will get cold, and wet. Of course, if you don't like the weather in Kentucky, just wait a few minutes and it will change......
Yes, the backrest flips forward to make it easier for the passenger to mount(at least the one I bought from the Harley dealer does) What I like about it is I can reach down and adjust it forward or backward while I'm riding to increase or decrease the pressure on my back. After having a compression fracture a couple of years ago, it bothered me after an hour or so of riding. No problems today, changed it a couple of times and life was good.

Weather here was in the low 80's yesterday and today, though it was a bit breezy. I didn't care....rode about 200 miles yesterdaay and almost 300 today, mostly in just a t-shirt. It was great. I guess I will now remove my wheels, and sent them to the chrome shop, since I finally got my first good ride of the year.
