Save yourself the pain
Get the J&M and be done. I spent $thousands on chatterbox, nady ect... The wires on the head sets are hair thin and are so small they can't even be repaired. You'll have constant problems and be unhappy. This is truly a case of you get what you pay for. I know it is cb, so use a channel that doesn't have chatter. One day it may save your life, I have had that happen. LOng story

Good point Valkyrie but my son's bike is in my garage right now while we are doing some work on it and I was checking for a mounting position. He has those "clip on" handlebars and there isn't any place to mount something like that. He's young and rides a GSXR750.
I have to agree with you about the Chatterbox. A friend brought his unit over to the house and all I could think of was the wiring everywhere and how soon it would be ripped apart throwing a leg over the bike.

Here's the video for them.

Something they don't tell you... when you install an ear piece there are the wires to the speaker and boom that you put under your helmet padding. Sometimes it will make your ear raw so just be careful when you install them.

I just got the Platinum 900 from Collett Communicators for Christmas. I'm anxious to try it come spring. It can only be used with a full or 3/4 helmet though. They say it's great for motorcycles or snowmobiles. I haven't used it yet so I can't tell you what it's like.

Don't mention it... easy stuff
I've been able to talk on our sets over 490' as advertised, just get a little cracking and low volume but it's OK. I've had a few types and haven't found any thing that is 100% perfect. Only noticeable thing with the blueant is a bit of wind crackle in the ear piece sometimes.
A couple of things I really like about these.. no power hook up, just charge them for about an hour before you go. If you are going camping you can take a cheap 120v converter and plug into any cig lighter, they still charge very fast. The auto sound is great, if the wind noise increases on your boom the ear piece volume increases. Cell phone interface is something a little different... some say they can't tell I'm on a bike but can tell I am on a speaker and I have very loud pipes.
Cheers..

I'm not a salesman for Blueant.. just to get that out the way so I don't get beat up..
Each head unit will pairwith and memorize 5 different bluetooth devices at once. So you can talk to 5 different people at once because it is full duplex. That means you cantalk and listen at the same time. If your passengerpairs your cell phone with their head set you can transfer you phone call to your passenger or any of the other riders as long as they arepaired with your cell phone. It all pretty cool if you ask me
